There are a few reasons why one could have issues installed VMRC. The most common reason is that VMware Workstation or Fusion is already installed on your computer and these two applications cannot be installed easily at the same time. Luckily if you have VMware Workstation or Fusion installed you don't need VMRC as you can use that to access consoles instead.
If you are still having issues with VMRC and cannot manage to open the consoles in Fusion or Workstation you can use the HTML5 console. The HTML5 Console (Requires chrome or firefox, other browsers will not work), which is launched from the summary tab of a virtual machine when it is selected in the vSphere Web Client, by clicking on the preview picture of the virtual machine console above the line that reads "Launch Virtual Machine Console".
